Register for the Claude certification exam.

The exams are listed on Pearson VUE like any other IT certification, and that is where most people go wrong, because you cannot create a Pearson VUE account and book one. Registration starts inside the Anthropic Partner Academy, and access to the Partner Academy comes through a Claude Partner Network organization. This page is the whole path, then the same question answered in every way people ask it.

The eligibility rule

Pearson VUE’s program page: “Certification is open to organizations in the Claude Partner Network and counts toward partner program standing.” Individuals do not enroll directly. Every candidate sits as a person affiliated with a partner organization, and each pass counts toward that organization’s standing, which is why partner firms have a reason to help their members get certified.

Three routes to eligibility

  1. Your employer is, or becomes, a Claude partner

If you work for a company that brings Claude to market, ask whether it is in the Claude Partner Network. If it is, whoever administers the partnership can give you Partner Academy access. If it is not, the company can apply, and then owns the application, the program requirements, and the ongoing relationship.

  2. Your own company applies

If you operate a company with a real Claude practice, you can apply to the partner network and hold the relationship in your own name. It is the heaviest route and the right one only if you want to be a partner rather than get certified.

  3. Join an existing partner firm

Partner firms can extend eligibility to the people on their member roster. YAID is a registered Claude Partner Network company that does this for independent AI engineers. Approved members become exam-eligible under YAID’s partner standing without running a partner entity of their own. The short version of that path is on the exam access page.

Step by step through a partner firm

  1. 01

    Apply to a partner firm

For YAID it is a short form at youraidept.com/network/apply. Approval puts you on the member roster of a registered Claude Partner Network company, which is what makes you exam-eligible.

  2. 02

    Get your firm credentials

Approved YAID members receive a YAID email address and registration access through the Anthropic Partner Academy. Partner Academy accounts are tied to the partner organization, which is why the firm email matters.

  3. 03

    Prepare

The Partner Academy has a self-paced prep course for each exam, and each exam guide publishes the domains and weights. Study against the blueprint rather than a guess at it.

  4. 04

    Schedule with Pearson VUE

Exams are delivered online proctored from your own machine or at a test center. Appointments can be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. You pay the exam fee at registration.

  5. 05

    Sit the exam

120 minutes, proctored and closed-book, with no notes and no AI assistance. Scoring runs 100 to 1,000 and 720 passes. If you test online, run the system check and read the room rules before the day.

  6. 06

    Keep the credential

Pass, and the certification is yours personally. It stays with you if you later leave the firm you registered through.

Routes 1 and 2 end up in the same place from step 2 onward. Every fee involved is on the cost page.

If you do not pass, and renewal

The program allows up to 4 attempts per exam in any rolling 12-month period. The waits are 14 days after the first attempt, 30 days after the second, and 90 days after the third, and each attempt costs the exam fee again. A pass is valid for 12 months. Renewal is a free, non-proctored assessment on the Anthropic Partner Academy, provided you complete it on time. Miss the window and you are back to a full proctored exam at the standard fee.

Every way people ask this

The answers overlap on purpose. People search in a dozen phrasings and each one deserves its own answer.

How do I register for the Claude certification exam?

Get affiliated with a Claude Partner Network organization, register in the Anthropic Partner Academy, then schedule with Pearson VUE. If you are independent, apply to a partner firm such as YAID first; that is what opens the Partner Academy to you.

How do I take the Claude Certified Architect exam?

Same path. CCAR-F is registered through the Partner Academy and delivered by Pearson VUE, online proctored or at a test center.

How do I sign up for Claude certification?

There is no public sign-up page. Sign-up happens inside the Anthropic Partner Academy, which you reach through a partner organization. For independent engineers, applying to a partner firm is the sign-up step.

Where do I book a Claude certification exam?

On Pearson VUE, after you have registered in the Partner Academy. Booking directly on Pearson VUE without that step is not possible.

Can I take the Claude certification exam without a company?

Not on your own. Certification is open to organizations in the Claude Partner Network, so you need to be affiliated with one. For independent engineers that means joining a partner firm.

Can I take the exam as a freelancer, contractor, or consultant?

Yes, through a partner organization. Joining a partner firm is the lighter option; the alternative is registering your own company in the partner network and carrying the program requirements yourself.

Can I take the Claude exam online, or do I need a test center?

Either. Pearson VUE offers online proctoring from your own machine and physical test centers. Online proctoring has room and system requirements; check them before the day.

Can I take the exam outside the United States?

The exam is delivered by Pearson VUE, which runs online proctoring and test centers in most countries. Eligibility works the same way everywhere: through a partner organization.

How do I get access to the Anthropic Partner Academy?

Through a Claude Partner Network organization. An employer that is a partner can grant it, and a partner firm you have joined can grant it. YAID members receive it after approval, under a YAID email address.

Do I need to be a YAID member to take the exam?

No. Any Claude Partner Network organization can extend eligibility. YAID is one option for people who do not have another.

Who pays the exam fee?

You do, at registration, unless your employer or firm has agreed otherwise. YAID membership does not include the exam fee.

How do I renew a Claude certification?

Complete the free renewal assessment on the Partner Academy before the 12-month validity ends. It is not proctored. After the window closes, renewal means sitting the full exam again at the standard fee.
