# What Claude certification costs in 2026.

Two fees, and people run them together. The exam fee goes to the certification program per attempt. A membership fee is what a partner firm charges if you get eligibility through one. This page puts numbers on both, plus retakes, renewal, and a worked total.

The fee buys one attempt. It was $99 during early access and moved to $125 for the engineer exams in the mid-2026 guides, so treat these as current rather than fixed and confirm at registration.

## Retakes and renewal

A failed attempt costs the full fee again. The program allows up to 4 attempts per exam in any rolling 12 months, with waits of 14 days after the first attempt, 30 after the second, and 90 after the third. A pass is valid for 12 months, and renewal is free if you complete the non-proctored renewal assessment on the Partner Academy on time. Let it lapse and you pay the standard fee for a full proctored exam.

## The membership fee, if you need a partner firm

Registration requires affiliation with a Claude Partner Network organization. If your employer is one, eligibility costs you nothing. If not, a partner firm charges a membership. YAID membership is $149 per quarter, which covers exam eligibility under our partner standing plus contracts, insurance, and invoicing for member client work. It does not include the exam fee. The third route, registering your own company in the partner network, has no published price and comes with the program’s requirements.
